Perfect Salmon: A Tutorial


Salmon is one of my most favorite fish to eat. That being said, it’s also on the pricey side so we don’t make it very often. When we do, we do it simply, letting the wonderful flavor of the salmon shine. We season it with salt, pepper, and a little garlic powder, sear it in a cast iron pan on the stove, and pop it in the oven to finish off. Perfection. Every. Time.

I’ve decided to do this as a tutorial rather than a recipe because this is so easy and customizable. Once you know the method, nothing is stopping you from making salmon at home better than your local restaurant.
